Have you even seen 6000 hectares of potato fields? If not, come along with us next time!

by Sekretariat

3 days, 3 cities, 3 farms, 1500 kilometers and lots of impressions to take home - you experience all of this if you travel with our motivated DEULA-Team.

The International Field Day Potato Russia 2021 took place in the Moscow region on August 6th. Of course we were there again and took two farm managers with us from Germany for expert support. Why not? Finally we were allowed to get out of the daily routine and experience something exciting abroad.

Potato RUSSIA field day organised by GRIMME has rightly been considered the most important event for the potato industry in the Russian Federation for several years. This year, the leaders of the potato and vegetable industry met on the premises of one of Russia's largest farms, Dmitrovskie Ovoshi.

We were very pleased to be able to meet our partners in person again, to discuss the prospects for next year and of course to welcome our guests at the DEULA stand.

Within the framework of this trip to Russia, we also organised two impressive farm visits.

We spent 5 hours on the farm "Zhak" . No wonder, even 2 days there would not be enough: the company owns 43,000 hectares of cultivated land. The annual production capacity of potatoes, for example, is 230,000 tonnes. In addition, the company produces cereals, carrots, beetroot, cabbage, milk and meat. Seeing all this with our own eyes and talking and exchanging ideas directly with the Russian specialists is worth a lot!

We spent the rest of the day together with Mr. Sergei Pryamov, General Director of AO Ozery. He took plenty of time to show us his impressive agricultural farmland, which stretches over 55 km along the river Oka. His company grows vegetables on 7000 hectares and produces potato chips; specialists on the farm are also successfully engaged in researching different vegetable varieties.

Russia always offers a lot, both of professional and cultural interest; we could certainly stay longer and see a lot more, but had to get back to work.

If you would also like to drive a harvester across the field to the horizon, to experience the most modern technologies on a slightly different scale, to enjoy Russian hospitality and also to admire the reflection of the sun rays in the golden domes - get in touch with us, we will be happy to take you with us!

P.S. We would like to thank the Grimme team for the invitation to participate in the Potato Russia 2021 field day and DEULA colleagues who organised this trip.
